Goole Earth和World Wind比較研究
1 引言
在空間數據不斷豐富的今天，如何充分開發利用已有數據並為公眾提供空間信息服務是目前面臨的重要問題。Internet和網路技術的不斷發展為網路空間信息服務提供了技術支撐。但是傳統的WebGIS模式，要求GIS伺服器根據用戶請求實時動態生成數據返回給客戶端，這種模式，對伺服器性能以及網路帶寬的要求高，不能滿足大規模網路並發訪問快速反應要求，已經成為困擾空間信息共享的技術瓶頸。Coog1P Earth和World Wind是兩款優秀的網路維地球影像瀏覽器，它們的出現，打破了傳統Web GIS的數據發布模式，為空間信息的快速發布提供了新的解決思路和技術手段。採用這種技術，客戶端和伺服器之間不是直接傳輸空問數據，而是傳輸影像圖片和 XML ( KML—Keyhole Markup Language KML）文檔。影像數據被預先按照不同比例尺分層分塊生成圖片，當用戶請求數據時，伺服器不需要實時生成數據，而是根據用戶請求的范圍和尺度，在伺服器端選擇頂先生成好的圖片，拼接成滿足用戶要求的范圍，返回給用戶。這種模式可以極大的降低伺服器和網路帶寬的負擔，為較少發生變化的空間數據發布提供了一種新的思路和解決方案。同時，這種技術使人們和空間信急的交互方式發生著深刻的變革。從World Wide Web到Web Wide World的變化反映了人們同空間信息的交互方式正從的單間信息服務模式到互動式、協同式探索的方向發展。
Google Earth和World Wind已經被大眾廣泛接受並逐漸開始應用在各個領域，兩個軟體既有共同之處，也各有特點，本文在分析這兩款軟體的技術特點之上，對二者進行了比較研究。
2 Google Earth技術分析
2004年10月27日GOOGLE宣布收購了Key-hole公司，並於2005年6月推出了Google Earth系列軟體。Google Earth以三維地球的形式把大量衛星圖片、航拍照片和模擬三維圖像組織在一起，使用戶從一個個新的角度瀏覽地球。Google Earth的數據來源於商業衛遙感衛星影像和航片，包括DigitelGlobe公司的QuickBird ,美IKOONOS及法國SPOTS。全球地貌影像的有效解析度至少為100米，通常為30米，視角海拔高度（Eye alt）為15公單左右，針對大城市、著名風景區、建築物區域會提供解析度為1m和0.6m左右的高精度影像，視角高度（Eye alt）分別約為500米和35O米。目前提供高精度影像的城市集中在北美和歐洲，以及其他地區的重要城市。
Google Earth客戶端軟體提供了三個版本:個人免費版、Plus版、Pro版。個人免費版提供了全球的地貌影像、3D數據和重點城市的高精度衛星拍攝的影像，具有查詢餐館、旅館和行車線路的功能，還能將建築物進行精確的模擬3D演示,能夠實現多圖層靈活查詢功能，並保存搜索結果〔提供地點書簽記錄功能，並且允許導入和導出。Plus版除終有個人免費版的功能外，還支持GPS數據介面導入、影像高精度列印、Email客戶服務、注釋提供草圖簡繪、csv文件數據輸入等功能。Pro版支持視頻電影生成、高精度列印、GIS數據導入、GDT交通計量數據導入、NRB商務信息數據等功能。
Google Earth還提供了一個企業級的解決方案，用於在企業內部部署Google Earth應用。Google Earth企業解決方案包含一個主要部分:一是Google Earth Fusion，負責將用戶的矢量數據、柵格數據、影像數據以及GIS常用的數據格式集成到Google Earth;二是Google Earth Server，負責將用戶請求的數據使用流傳輸技術發送給客戶端軟體;三是Google Earth企業客戶端（EC-Enterprise Client），負責向客戶展現、列印地球影像，創建和共享地標(placemarks).
Google Earth包含全球大部分地區的真彩色遙感影像，並根據用戶觀察視角不同即時發送給用戶不同解析度的圖像。用戶可以通過滑鼠點擊、拖拽來控制飛行高度、方向、角度，也可以通過點擊導航板或鍵盤控制。Google Earth除了瀏覽的功能外，還具有量測功能包括位置星測、高程量測、距離量測和垂直跨大率(vertical exaggeration)調整。
Google Earth具有三個突出特點，一是可以顯示矢最數據地標，包括點、線、面等幾何類型；二是具有柵格圖象疊加的功能，允許用戶將本機上或從網上下載下來的地圖圖片疊加到Google Earth上,並且可以調整祥加圖片的透明度，此功能可以方便用戶進行深入的觀察和分析；三是具有三維虛擬模型，提供了一些城市的三維模型，允許用戶使用三維對象。但三維模型的表示能為遠沒有Google Earth地標靈活，Google Earth地標是Google Earth最吸引人的地方。
用戶可以創建和分享地標，這給Google Earth帶了很大的靈話性，也給Google Earth帶來了更多的信息。每個人都可以在Coogle Earth 上某個地點、線段、區域上定義自己的地標，加入自己的知識，並且用戶可以發布和共享地標信息，這樣，Google Earth就成為一個具有空間標識的信息載體，大量信息、以地標的形式集成到Google Earth上，這些地標內容豐富，包含文字解說、照片等信息。目前網路上已經有很多共享地標，用戶可以直接下載，加入到自己的Google Earth軟體。Google Earth 4已經支持中文地標。
Google Earth地標使用KML描述。KML全稱是Keyhole Markup Language KML， 是一個基於KML語法和文件格式的文件，用來描述和保存地理信息並在Google Earth客戶端之中顯示。
KML 2.0提供以下功能:

(2)為每個視圖指定明確的視角
（3）指定屏幕或地理位置的圖片標注

(9)當Google Earth客戶端視圖變化時，自動將視圖信息發送給指定的源伺服器並從伺服器獲取相關的標注信息
KML定義了大量的標記，提供了豐富的描述能力。<FOLDER>標記用來以樹型方式組織地標，相當於管理地標的資源管理器。< Placemark>標記用來描述一個地名標注，例如，可以用來描述一個地理坐標點，坐標必須以[經度，緯度，高度]來指定，也可以描述線和面對象，指定地名標注的視點、名稱和描述等信息。<NetworkLink>標記用來定義一個引用本地或遠程的KML文件，保證了KML標記的共享能力。圖片標注(Image Overlays)也可以用KML描述，通過圖片標注,可以將用戶的柵格數據疊加到Google Earth客戶端。圖片標記包含地理圖片標注<Gronrrd0verlay>和屏幕圖片標注<ScreenOverlay>兩種，其中屏幕圖片標注不需要關注攝取圖片的照相機位置。KML提供了簡單的幾何標記，包括點( Point)、線(LineString)和面（Polygon)。 KML的幾何標記與GML1.0和GML2.0相同，但是GML3.0對GML2.0的幾何模型進行了擴展，KML與GML 3.0的幾何標記不同。
3 World Wind技術分析
World Wind是由NASA阿莫斯研究中心的科研人員開發的開放源代碼(Open Source)。NXASA World Wind可以利用Landsat 7、SRTM、MODIS、GLOBE , Landmark Set等多顆衛星的數據，將Landsat衛星的圖像和太空梭雷達遙感數據結合在一起，讓用戶體驗三維地球遨遊的感覺。在瀏覽地球的同時，還提供了月球數據，可以對月球進行虛擬的巡航。用戶可在所觀察的行星上隨意地旋轉、放大、縮小，同時可以看到地名和行政區劃。World Wind能夠瀏覽由Internet上的WMS ( Weh Mapping Service )提供的圖像。World Wind正在發布著數以千兆的全球MASA 衛星數據，這是數年來對降水量、溫度、大氣壓和其他許多數據每天觀測的結果。World Wind還為公眾提供美國地質助測局的航拍照片和地形地圖，以及太空梭雷達地形勘測任務和Landsat衛星的數據。

4 Google Earth 與 World Wind比較分析
Google Earth和 World Wind是兩款可視化的三維地球瀏覽器，二者功能強大，具有三維可視化的能力，採用了先進的流傳輸技術，但是二者又具有很多不同之處。
（1)背景和目標不同。Google Earth的開發者-Google是一個商業公司，具有強的商業性，它的客戶端是面向大眾的;World Wind的開發者是NASA(美國國家航空航天局)，NASA是1個科學組織，World Wind是面向科貨家、研究工作者和學生群體。
(2 )費用不同。World Wind是完全免費的，Google Earth具有三個版本，其中包括免費的個人版，Plus版和Pro版。Plus版和Pro 版每年分別要付20美元和400美元。Google 的免費版本被授權為個人使用，不能用於工作環境，而World Wind沒有任何限制。另外World Wind是完全開放的，用戶可以修改World Wind軟體本身，Google Earth目前只開放了API(應用程序介面)。
(3）數據源不同。Google Earth使用商業衛星，主要來自DigitalGlobe公司的(QuickBird、美國IKONOS及法國SPOTS,高解析度高。Google Earth只有地球的真彩色數據，但圖層多而詳細、如地勢、邊界、道路、鐵路、水道、地震、火山、學校、教會、公園、加油站、高爾夫球場、犯罪統計…等，北美地區數據比較全。World Wind不僅具有地球的影像數據，還包括月球、火星、金星、木星的數據，並且還具有集成其他星球數據的能力。World Wind內建的l}l層有Blue Marble、Landsat 7、SRTM、NASA SVS、MODIS、GLOBE、USGS…等。每個圖層的用途不同、所含的信息、解析度也不同。另外只要是符合OGC WMS（Open GIS consortium web map service）即可成為World Wind的資料來源。World Wind支持導入Google Earth KML文件的插件。World Wind具有科學可視化、動畫瀏覽器以及其他類型的衛星影像，其中有些數據每天更新。相比Google Earth，World Wind的數據更全面，結構更開放。
(4)初始大小不同。Google Earth軟體下載大小為13MB, World Wind為62MB，這是因為Google Earth初始化為地球全景視圖，用戶瀏覽的高解析度數據通過網路實時傳輸，而World Wind帶有50M初始化數據，包括43個不同的地球視圖、3個月球視圖以及下載地區的地名數據。Google Earth地球視圖是由不同時間的影像組合而成的，看上去有些斑塊的感覺，但是Google 盡量讓用戶感覺這個虛擬的地球與地球的真實場景一致。World Wind具有不同的視圖。這些視圖具有不同的目標，例如Blue Marble提供了不同季節的地球瀏覽，Landset提供了地球的假彩色圖像。World Wind的不同視圖可以單獨使用也可以合並在一起使用。

1 引言
在空間數據不斷豐富的今天，如何充分開發利用已有數據並為公眾提供空間信息服務是目前面臨的重要問題。Internet和網路技術的不斷發展為網路空間信息服務提供了技術支撐。但是傳統的WebGIS模式，要求GIS伺服器根據用戶請求實時動態生成數據返回給客戶端，這種模式，對伺服器性能以及網路帶寬的要求高，不能滿足大規模網路並發訪問快速反應要求，已經成為困擾空間信息共享的技術瓶頸。Coog1P Earth和World Wind是兩款優秀的網路維地球影像瀏覽器，它們的出現，打破了傳統Web GIS的數據發布模式，為空間信息的快速發布提供了新的解決思路和技術手段。採用這種技術，客戶端和伺服器之間不是直接傳輸空問數據，而是傳輸影像圖片和 XML ( KML—Keyhole Markup Language KML）文檔。影像數據被預先按照不同比例尺分層分塊生成圖片，當用戶請求數據時，伺服器不需要實時生成數據，而是根據用戶請求的范圍和尺度，在伺服器端選擇頂先生成好的圖片，拼接成滿足用戶要求的范圍，返回給用戶。這種模式可以極大的降低伺服器和網路帶寬的負擔，為較少發生變化的空間數據發布提供了一種新的思路和解決方案。同時，這種技術使人們和空間信急的交互方式發生著深刻的變革。從World Wide Web到Web Wide World的變化反映了人們同空間信息的交互方式正從的單間信息服務模式到互動式、協同式探索的方向發展。

2 Google Earth技術分析
2004年10月27日GOOGLE宣布收購了Key-hole公司，並於2005年6月推出了Google Earth系列軟體。Google Earth以三維地球的形式把大量衛星圖片、航拍照片和模擬三維圖像組織在一起，使用戶從一個個新的角度瀏覽地球。Google Earth的數據來源於商業衛遙感衛星影像和航片，包括DigitelGlobe公司的QuickBird ,美IKOONOS及法國SPOTS。全球地貌影像的有效解析度至少為100米，通常為30米，視角海拔高度（Eye alt）為15公單左右，針對大城市、著名風景區、建築物區域會提供解析度為1m和0.6m左右的高精度影像，視角高度（Eye alt）分別約為500米和35O米。目前提供高精度影像的城市集中在北美和歐洲，以及其他地區的重要城市。
Google Earth客戶端軟體提供了三個版本:個人免費版、Plus版、Pro版。個人免費版提供了全球的地貌影像、3D數據和重點城市的高精度衛星拍攝的影像，具有查詢餐館、旅館和行車線路的功能，還能將建築物進行精確的模擬3D演示,能夠實現多圖層靈活查詢功能，並保存搜索結果〔提供地點書簽記錄功能，並且允許導入和導出。Plus版除終有個人免費版的功能外，還支持GPS數據介面導入、影像高精度列印、Email客戶服務、注釋提供草圖簡繪、csv文件數據輸入等功能。Pro版支持視頻電影生成、高精度列印、GIS數據導入、GDT交通計量數據導入、NRB商務信息數據等功能。
Google Earth還提供了一個企業級的解決方案，用於在企業內部部署Google Earth應用。Google Earth企業解決方案包含一個主要部分:一是Google Earth Fusion，負責將用戶的矢量數據、柵格數據、影像數據以及GIS常用的數據格式集成到Google Earth;二是Google Earth Server，負責將用戶請求的數據使用流傳輸技術發送給客戶端軟體;三是Google Earth企業客戶端（EC-Enterprise Client），負責向客戶展現、列印地球影像，創建和共享地標(placemarks).
Google Earth包含全球大部分地區的真彩色遙感影像，並根據用戶觀察視角不同即時發送給用戶不同解析度的圖像。用戶可以通過滑鼠點擊、拖拽來控制飛行高度、方向、角度，也可以通過點擊導航板或鍵盤控制。Google Earth除了瀏覽的功能外，還具有量測功能包括位置星測、高程量測、距離量測和垂直跨大率(vertical exaggeration)調整。
Google Earth具有三個突出特點，一是可以顯示矢最數據地標，包括點、線、面等幾何類型；二是具有柵格圖象疊加的功能，允許用戶將本機上或從網上下載下來的地圖圖片疊加到Google Earth上,並且可以調整祥加圖片的透明度，此功能可以方便用戶進行深入的觀察和分析；三是具有三維虛擬模型，提供了一些城市的三維模型，允許用戶使用三維對象。但三維模型的表示能為遠沒有Google Earth地標靈活，Google Earth地標是Google Earth最吸引人的地方。

1 引言

2 Google Earth技術分析
