There will be a public meeting for all Trillian fans around the New York City area this weekend. Fans can share their Trillian experiences, and show their use on laptop.

DATE:
October 15th, 2005

TIME:
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST

WHERE:
New York City at Starbucks in Penn Station
(212) 760-3001
1 Penn Plz
New York, NY 10119

Above is the picture of the Starbucks for the meetup (Larger Pic (http://www.gotrillian.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=42)), courtesy of Starbucks Everywhere (http://www.starbuckseverywhere.net/). Looks like it's a big and spacious one.

For those who are interested, we will talk about the establishment of the GoTrillian Committee, which will be responsible for organizing potential events (e.g. meetups, contests), and physical tasks (printing and distribution promotional items). If you are interested, please come with an agenda of what you would like to help with.

As the Head Designer of Cerulean Studios who is responsible for the blueprint of the front-end (UI, experience, workflow, graphics and web design), I will be there at the meetup to listen to your ideas on promoting Trillian and exchange on what you love about Trillian. The meeting is going to be casual, so don't expect technical support. ;)

It is not necessary to bring your laptop, but it would be interesting to share your ideas if you have your Trillian ready. I don't know if there is Wi-Fi there but my computer has Verizon Broadband Access, so I can do ICS to share my Internet connection.

For those who cannot attend the meetup, feel free to join us at #Trillian on irc.chatspike.net at the meetup hours. I will use my laptop to connect to the channel at the time during the meetup.

Looking forward to see you soon!

I'll definitely be there for the IRC chat, would love to make it to the meeting but i live in Potsdam, NY which is almost as far north in NYS as you can get from NYC :P My only suggestion for the next version of Trillian is pleace grace us with an updated version of Cordillera! *Please*

Well I've waited to the very last moment to see if I will attend, but so far it looks as if I will not be attending due to work related commitments. But things do happen at the last moment and I am not too far from NYC. So at the last moment I could jump in my truck and go.

We'll see when the time comes :)

I'll be in the channel, since I have a concert that evening

Having said that, I'm glad to see this meetup will happen unlike the last one :)

I won't be there... don't feel like paying like 400 euro's for the plane ticket (think it's that much)... Why can't we have a GoTrillian Meetup in Amsterdam? :P

Also if you regualy hang out on any of the following networks you can stop by and see the meet in progress though a multi-network channel mirroring that is in place, though be aware many of them are set to moderated so you won't be able to send text to the channel unless you are voiced so going to ChatSpike may still be your best bet but I thought I would throw this up just in case:

EFnet
DALnet
BeyondIRC
OpenProjects
Undernet

Quick Q for those who're interested:

How many people will actually be there?
At what time will it be?
Etcetera

The meet up was a fun time! It was Kid, myself, and my cousin John. We hit up a Starbucks around Penn Station and hooked up Kid's laptop and webcam. 5 people were watching and chatting in the IRC channel. The big topic at hand was the Trillian store that we would like to get going. Kid gave use free Trillian t-shirts!! (woot)

Although the meeting was not a large turnout, it was still a fantastic time! Kid even showed me a few secrets of what's to come. ;) No! Not the new Trillian you goofballs! He showed me a new skin he is working on.

Here are pictures of me and Kid with the laptop and webcam we were using.

Ywah, I knew he was going to show it. Too bad, because I already knew I wouldn't be there for two reasons: I live in the Netherlands. And, I'm sick at home...

It really pisses me off when things like this happen and stupid stuff comes up and stops me from going :-/

I'm litterally like a stones throw from NYC ( ok, not THAT close, but you can almost spit across connecticut and hit it )

I am a stones throw from NY, I go to school in Hoboken, but on the day in question, I woke up to a body that hated me...I mean hated me due to the night before. I was sad I missed it, next time I will plan better....
